Hey everyone! Today is my 5 year blog anniversary. Wow. I simultaneously can and cannot believe it. If you want to really lol your pants off, please feel free to check out my very first post.
I cringe at a lot of my old work – the bad photos, the sometimes unvegan recipes, the mish-mosh of trying out a million things, the bad advice…all of it stinks! But that’s part of life you know? You live and you learn and you evolve and improve.

I finally decided last week Monday that I love writing, making videos, and sharing both science and my life with others and needed to stop with the excuses and step up my freakin’ game already. I wanted to take my amateur, kinda icky looking site and polish the crap out of it until I felt proud of being associated with it.
I hope you are enjoying the blog redesign as much as I am. I have wanted to do this for years, but have always held back due to self-doubt, feeling like it is pointless, and/or not having the ample time and energy needed to revamp a website. I actually have tried a couple times and been unsuccessful, once when I tried to work with a service and had all of my content vanish for a few days (yup, I freaked out).
Also, working in social media for other companies and writing for other platforms zapped a lot of my creative energy. That or I was so swamped with school and two jobs I felt like blogging was a chore rather than a fun task. I’m happy I am finally prioritizing pouring my energy back into creative entities.
I’m not quite exactly where I want to be in terms of the site redesign, but I’m working on it. If grad school taught me anything, it’s that if I have to, I can figure things out. Whether that be coding, mapping weather patterns, or figuring out what dietary ailments are causing a kid is suffering from bone disorders.
Today, in celebration of trying new things, I filmed this Q&A. I hope you enjoy!
My goal is to finally pour my time and energy into building this platform this summer. I am aiming for at least 4 blog posts and one video a week. Please, hold me accountable, y’all!
Leave any other questions you have below. I consider every reader, viewer, and/or follower a friend. Thank you all again so much and please say hello to me on Instagram, Twitter, or YouTube!
