Hey hey! I want to make my recent vegan eats roundups more regular. I love reading about other people’s random daily eats for inspiration for new snacks and meals, and I strive to write a blog I would want to read, so here we are.
Without further audieu, here’s a peak into what I’ve been nommin’ on lately. Hope you enjoy! Drop a comment below if you like these kinds of posts, or if you don’t!
Pesto Meatball Sub and air-baked sweet potato fries with ALL the beet ketchup and chipotle aioli from byChloe
Last Saturday I met up with my NYU friend (and future MD!) Nina and her awesome vegan mom. We had a yummy dinner at byChloe, complete with all the condiments (really what’s best about byChloe), and dessert (a vegan/gluten-free cupcake + a cookie, split three ways).
It was so nice to meet Dr. Chris IRL! I feel like we’ve been internet friends for a long time. After we all went to Trader Joe’s…aka a perfect Saturday night!
For more on what I like at byChloe, check out my NYC Vegan Eats Roundup!
Snap Peas with Hummus:
YUM. Snap pea season! I got some yummy ones from the farmer’s market near by apartment and raged on them with hummus. Yummus.
Cherries
Again, tis the season! I love love love cherries, and they have such a short season, so when I saw a big bag for $1.88/pound, I had to get some. So sweet and refreshing.
Veggie Wraps with Hummus
The nice people from Hope Hummus sent me a bunchhh of hummus to nom on. And I must say, it’s quite good! So far I’ve only opened 3 of the 6 flavors they sent me, but based on what I’ve tried, I especially love the Thai Curry Coconut hummus.
I made a lunch wrap the other day and plated it all fun and colorful for pride month. The base was a sweet potato wrap from Angelic Bakehouse (my favorite brand of bread/wraps ever! and from my home town :)), sliced apples and leftover beets for red, Jalapeno hummus and leftover roasted sweet potatoes for orange, Thai Curry Coconut hummus for yellow, lettuce and Trader Joe’s Green Goddess dressing for green, and red cabbage for purple…and I guess I forgot blue! Oops.
Anyways, the variety of colors and textures and flavors made this a summer yummy satisfying lunch. Paired with the rest of that apple + cinnamon + almond butter. Yummo.
Tony’s Chocolate
On Monday night I went to a Tony’s rooftop party, here the CEO spoke about their chocolate.
This isn’t sponsored (none of my content is!) but I do really love the company and wanted to support them and love their chocolates! They are a socially responsible company that advocates for fair wages and responsible cocoa sourcing, since much of the chocolate industry supports child/slave labor.
They can be a bit harder to find, but you can get them on amazon if you can’t find at your store!
Pressed Freeze
Finally tried the Insta-famous Pressed Freeze cause I had a coupon for a $1 freeze with toppings. I’ve seen this all the frick over Instagram by all the trendy “wellness expert” bloggers.
In my opinion, it was okay. It tasted like frozen juice….which I guess is exactly what it is! I found the texture to be rather icy and not very creamy like froyo. I was looking for dessert and it didn’t fully come through for me in that department. I could see it making a yummy light and refreshing afternoon snack on a hot day though.
My favorite part was the toppings! Drippy almond butter + coconut shreds + sea salt + raspberries + coconut flakes. Yummers.
Sweet Earth’s new frozen pizzas + ALL THE VEGGIE SIDES
On Thursday night, I went to launch party for Sweet Earth food’s new line of frozen pizza at the Tasting Table space in Soho with my classmate/friend Rachel. One of the four pizzas was vegan (the veggie lover) and it was really good! No fake cheese, but rather, a creamy cauliflower sauce for a similar mouthfeel. Into it.
Was also majorly into all the YUMMY veggie sides they had there…I ate two plates of veggies along with my pizza!
Also, this was a pea dish with some avocado mouse…that I am still dreaming about!
Pasta with Homemade Pesto
Actually from when I was home a little bit ago. Made pesto with avo, pine nuts, garden fresh basil, nutritional yeast, olive oil, S&P. YUM.
Marty V’s Burger with a Fora Foods Buttered bun, and fries with buttery vegan buffalo sauce
I went to a launch party for Fora Foods Fababutter on Friday (three events in one week….who am I? lol) and mixed and mingled with a lot of people I’ve never met before and ate some yummy food.
They had catering by Marty’s V Burger, which I’d never had before, and it was good! Very fast-foody, if that’s what you’re into. I really enjoyed the addition of pickles in the burger, and the cheese was oddly realistically fake cheese-tasting (like a slice of American cheese, if that makes sense).
There was, of course, Fababutter (Fora’s first product – an aquafaba-based butter) on the sesame buns, and a buffalo dip made with Fababutter for the fries. And popcorn with butter. YUM.
Starbuck’s New Vegan Cookie!
It was good! Citrusy, oatmealy and filled with macadamia nuts and cranberries. Will buy again. Sorry my feet are so frickin’ gross.
Giant Salads with Trader Joe’s Green Goddess Dressing
I’m HOOKED on this stuff! It’s so flavorful and big salads with this dressing have been hitting the spot as an appetizer or base for a lunch (with nuts, seeds, tofu, avo, other random veggies, fruit, whatever I have around) for lunch.
I can’t express how much I’m in love. GET SOME.
Watermelon Kombucha
Tasted like pickled watermelon. A lot of people love it. I liked it, but probably wouldn’t buy again just cause Gingerberry >> IMO.
Just Cookie Dough
YUM. Both are delicious. I like how the chocolate chip one has oodles and oodles of chips. The birthday cake one is good too!
Hope you liked that glimpse into some of my recent vegan eats! Leave me a comment on something yummy you’ve eaten recently or if you have any product recs for me!
